Closing Bluepandacakes down

As most of you already know, I have a baking blog that goes by the name Bluepandacakes.

Its my baby project and has been  around for almost a year now for selling homemade cakes.

Throughout the year, the blog has received an overwhelming response for which I have never stop feeling grateful for that. 

The baking blog has been a beacon of light during the time I was going through a very hard times last year and made me realized that will power can always bring you to places.

Sadly I have to shut my baby Bluepandacakes down. Temporarily for a year. 

I have big plans to announce for next coming month.

So, this is the last RV that I'm baking for Bluepandacakes. 

I find it very sentimental to published this post. 

But, cheer up dear self, pray that everything turns out well in the end!

And as for now, keep your heads up about this blog whereabouts.

Cause I'm pretty sure this blog won't be closing down anytime soon.

Supper at Wondermama! (Updated with new pics!)

Last month, I tangoed my family to this new place. 

What catches my eyes are their menus!

They have banana fritters, cendol, durian crepe, nyonya kueh, and all malaysian local delicacies like curry laksa, nasi lemak as well as western dishes. 

All nicely serve in the vintage-asian fusion theme restaurant!

Cool rite?

Unfortunately I dragged my family to these place at their closing time

 because Papa needed a spot to smoke his lungs out after our dinner at the area nearby.

And since all places are on full-house mode, thus voila,

 Wondemama Cafe has its door smiling at me even at 10pm.

Since it was late, and we just had our dinner, I didn't  get the chance to try out their food.

But I'm sure the food is going to beat you tummies and your taste buds. 

The waiter said their curry laksa is a winner here.

While waiting for papa sailing his cigars out, I do what I did best..smile and snap!

Hoo-hoo. Their hot chocolate tasted homey. 

Not to forget, they have aiskrim potong!

Will definitely comeback here with my girlfriends.

Honey Journey

Lavender Bistro, One Utama

(Had no idea what this dessert is called, but it tasted artistically heaven)

Dear blog,

Every time I saw a breathtaking view that is worth for your viewing, 

you are the first thing that cross my mind.

I'll took photos of it and promise myself that I'll share it with you.

But its been weeks long since I've taken the pics and I already had bundles of it.

So, I'm gonna carefully select which picture to publish it for your view.

Last month, my gals and I went for food hunting adventure and landed ourselves in Bangsar. 

We wanted to try out new foods and
 finally sink our tooth at Bens General Food Store.

We ordered pizza, lambshank and mushroom zuchinni.

The lamb shank was the best one I had lay in my tummy.

The pizza was good too.

The place fits for spending time with your loud girlfriends over good food.

If you're not there for the food,they also served nuttella milkshakes and fruits flavoured sodas.
The place is definitely a winner.

My girlfriends being the true food-hunters were recording their findings.

Celebrate Mom's birthday in mid May.

Last week, the company where I'm currently performing my internship held their annual 

company trip in Koh Lipe Island in Thailand.

The island was beautiful and the locals were friendly.

I had such a great time and memories from these place.

I had the best fried chicken sold by the hawkers along the Wang Kelian's border.
The chicken cost you only 3 for RM5!

The admin staff from my workplace and I
 made a pack to go to for weekly exercise routine twice a week.

So on the first week, we decided to went up to Batu Caves to climb the stairs.

Before I reached the place, I thought

 it would take at least half an hour just to reach the top.

But it turns out the opposite.
It took us only 20 minutes to reach the top and back down.

(Fast, rite?)

And the stairs has 272 steps. I've counted.

Last Friday was my last day of internship at AGI.

It was such a sad moment for me to leave those darling people.

The day started by me having to go for a site visit, and when I came back to the office at noon,

 I saw these at my desk.

I almost cried.

Then we went for lunch+dinner+played bowling together to bid our farewell.

I feel so blessed and honoured to be able to know you guys!

Coconut Shake+Upin&Ipin Play+Pegaga Restaurant

I always have this one confused moment about what title I'm going to put every time I'm blogging.

The thing is I always put up random stuff all in one post that makes 

me harder to choose the appropriate title.

However, I  believe that the title should be somewhat comprehensive about the post.

Hence the title above.

Last week, my fabulous forensic team where I'm performing my internship right now and I went to Malacca for a fire case investigation. 

It was a small fire scene in Cheng and we finished the job investigation right before lunch.

After lunch, we headed to the famous Coconut Shake that everyone been snapping pictures all over facebook and twitter to have a taste.

It turns out there was two places, one is the famous Coconut Shake Klebang, the other is in Jalan Cergas.

Armed with Google maps on our smart phones to lead the way, 

we drove to the one in Jalan Cergas.

And oh my,what a coconut shake!

It tasted completely vanilla-ish coconut.

I'm not a fan of coconut, but this c. shake tasted REALLY good.

There's also free coconut water refill on the table, so you can have a taste of pure cool coconut water once you're done with your coconut shake.

We were also told that the coconut shake in Jalan Klebang does not have chocolate rice sprinkles on it. =)

 The "Double Special C.Shake"  in Jalan Cergas cost only RM3 each.

Happy me.

Later we went back to KL with coconut smile carved on our face.

The day before Malacca, my mom, baby bro and I went for Upin & Ipin Show in Istana Budaya, 

courtesy of a friend who is working there.

The show somehow seems little bit dull to me.

But then I got the chance to meet and snap a pic with Intan Payung, so all is good.

Today I had dinner at Pegaga Restaurant in Melawati. 

Its a new restaurant that opened 6 months ago.

I was introduced to this place by my fellow friends from primary school.

The place is cosy and white but the western food that they served doesn't taste that well. 

But I haven't tried the Malay cookings and their food presentations were almost creative. 

They have menus ranged from Gulai, Masak Lemak to Honeygrass Chicken Chops, Lasagna, Ubi rebus and hefty dessert such as Baskin Robbins ice cream and cakes.

 The Malay guy who served us said their cook are mainly from the north and so was he, 

and  that they's opening their second outlet in Jalan Changkat, Bukit Bintang.

Seeing all these mens working hard and actually get to see the fruit of their labour always inspire me to create one business adventure of my own.

One day may be, insyallah.

Breakfast @ Levain KL

You read the title.

My bimbo's and I went out for early morning breakfast at Levain, in Jalan Imbi.

It was my first visit to the place.

It has very colonial look and the foreign staff was great. 

The Malay ones acts like they're working in local hawkers stall.

Its an old bungalow house building so the parking are little bit limited. 

You can park your car in the compound for RM2 and there's also a valet.

But you are always free to park your car outside the compound as well. 

My bimbo's had a blast. 

They've been snapping pictures all the way in right until the end.

The breakfast plate plus a drink will cost you about RM15++.

I always love breakfast but somehow Levain is not in my favourite list.

Though their pastry tasted pretty good. 

They have cheese croissants and chocolate filling pastry that tastes quite good. 

There was one pastry I couldn't remember its name but it has something like a caramelized chopped peanuts on top of a pastry which tasted divine.

And when there's green coloured macaroons on the display,

 do ask what is the flavor. 

Because initially we thought it was Green tea or Pistache filling.

 But then it turned out to be Durian flavor! Yikes. Not a fan of durian.

The shop was quite full when we're about to leave around 10.30am.

But you should drop by this place and feel the classical feeling the interior offers. 

It offers you a temporary serenity in the mid of KL's hustles.

Switchblade Kuala Lumpur

A trip to Switchblade last night was a celebration.

I haven't seen them in ages. They were all looking good and like mini fashionistas.

The food was scrumptious, authentic and made us all full.

The desserts was unlimited scoop of 6 flavors of ice cream 

with 10 different toppings to choose from. 

Since the dessert bowl was small,I was going back and

forth to the dessert table for more scoop of ice cream with crushed oreo toppings.

We snap picture all over the place and was having hell of a fun.

My friend even bake a rainbow birthday cake to celebrate all of our birthdays that we've missed!

It was sweet moment.

Thanks girls!

Rice Pilaf+ Chicken Tikka

Hello people! 

Couple of days ago I made my first attempt to cook rice pilaf. 

It was actually easy.

2 cups of long grain rice+ 2 1/2 cup of chicken broth+

 2tbs of butter +1 large onion chopped+ 2-3tbs of almonds flakes.

Combine all and cooked till the rice is nicely done.

As for the chicken, I stumble across the Indian spices section in the supermarket. 

I was so eager to try one because there were like 50  different spices stacked at the shelf. 

So I took the one that called Chicken Tikka.

The box of spices already had the cooking instruction in English, so it was kinda easy.

The ingredients includes cream and yogurt.

The taste was really goood. 

Gonna try the other spices next time.

Vanilla Cafe

Went to a place called Vanilla Cafe in Empire,Subang couple of days ago with mum for a tea time.

The placed was recommended by a friend of mine, Syazrien.

They offer rm 18.90 teatime set for 2 person.

 The set consist of a pot of flower tea/BOH,which is refillable and desserts platter. 

It has couple of macaroons,mini pies, mini cuppies, biscotti, mini scones,garden sandwich and baby brownies. 

The place were not exquisite but its a nice place to zone out. 

Plus the dessert menu were quite tempting enough. 

They have Pavlova( meringue with fruit toppings), Banana Cheese cake and scrumptious looking bread pudding.

When we arrived,I was quite hungry at the moment ,so I ordered a lasagna. I haven't eat  it in ages!

 The treat was not sensational,but still it tasted okay.

If you insist on trying out this new place,it is located at the 1st floor of the building,opposite the escalator.

The cafe doesn't promote the teatime set, so you're gonna have to seat down and browse the menu or asked them about it.

 Every Friday till Sunday, Empire held a street market scattered at each floor. They offer common items such as necklaces and bracelets, earrings, shoes, blog-like clothes at really low prices. Worth checking it out,I say.

Apple Pie,anyone?

Life has been kinda so-so for me these past few days.

In fact I just came out from flu and cold. Not the best experience.

Last week I had a group assignment for OSHA subject.

They were 10 beautiful+funny people in my group,in which I was the group leader.

Mula-mula I thought takde orang nak masuk group I,sebab dalam kelas tu ada 190 students, and they all are like super seniors+juniors from various course. 

Only my 2 friends and I from our batch yang gatal nak ambil subject ni awal. 

So my friend pun gatal-gatal letak nama I jadi group leader sebab ingat takde orang nak masuk group we all.

But when my friend give out the group form for other students to fill in, it was a surprised that it came back in full.

So,this was my first experience working in large group for an assignment and with the super seniors.

I was like sangat la nervous nak deal dengan diorang.

But it turned they were such great+helpful+funny people,which turns out to be a great experience for me.

Not to mention masa working on the assignment,I was sick.

That is the worst part of the job. 

And that the assignment's working instruction was very confusing. Hell confusing.

(Pity my group members sebab I asyik salah interpret the instructions)

But other than that,it was a great opportunity to get to know my my seniors.

I don't know what is like for them,but to me it was like working with your family cause there was no friction or even an awkward moments between us. 

Given the fact that we all has never been working together before. So,its a score,right?

Last weekend,I baked these Apple Pie beauty...right from scratch. 

As in the apple fillings,the crust,and the crumbles!

So proud of myself.

I absolutely has no story to share. 

Except that I miss my mum so bad that it hurts even when I just think about her. 

So I'm just trying to live one day at a time. 

Constantly avoiding the issue. 

Thanks to my overload assignment+lab work,it helps. 

It really does.

And I'm still praying that I'll be able to get over this.

Hopefully everything goes well on your end though.

And I hope things will get better on mine. 

Till then, always feel blessed for what we have.

I know I do.

My health and my friends are at their excellent state.

The place is in Ampang (besides the Sucasa Hotel), 

within Toyota-gallery compound .

Not so great ambiance but the place is great for the usual family dinner. 

And the food is fantastic.

Worth a try.
