Hello people!
Last Oct 2011 my cousins and I gear up for our first trip together to Universal Studios in Singapore.
Here are the few info's I would like to share:
- The ticket cost about 70$ (Sg Dollar), which includes return ticket for bus shuttle from JB Sentral and USS admission ticket. Departure time are as early as 7.30am, 8.30am and 9.30am.
- If you're not from Johor, there's a cool deal that I found by Tune hotels in Danga Bay. You can read it here and the ticket's price is here. The hotel provide free shuttle to USS and you can purchase the ticket at the hotel as well.
- The journey from JB sentral , through custom till USS consist of 45 minutes.
- The USS closed at 7pm.
- We went there on Sunday and surprisingly the crowd wasn't at all what we expected, because they were no crowd at all.
- Upon entering USS, grab yourself a map by the entrance. It'll help you to locate which food outlets are halal, which game did we miss and what time the shows are.
- We dine it at the Mel's Drive in. It has the 70's American fast food interior and provide speedy services. My cousin and I bought the kiddy meal because we were so tempted with the Woodypecker lunchboxes. The meal only cost 10$. See the happy faces down there.
- When we saw the long line on each attraction we thought the line is gonna take hours. But the max time we waited in the line was only 11 mins. Because most attraction would accommodate up to 40 people at a time.
- If you purchased more than 60$ at the Universal Studios souvenir shop by the entrance, you are entitled to the promotion of 30$ worth of Universal Studios Tshirt for only 20$.
- When we were watching the Madagascar shows, at the end they allow you for only 10 min of photo session with the characters. We thought in such short time we couldn't have snap our pic with all the characters. But then, its proven the 10 minutes time was enough. We got our shots both together and individually with the characters, King Jullian, Alex, Marty and Gloris. Blisss!
- The Vanilla ice cream at the Friar's cafe, is to die for. The cotton candy taste no different like any other but the stick that holds the candy have lights! For some reason the ice lemon tea at the Little Red Ride taste sinfully good after a long day and the nachos at the Lost World area taste heaven too. You can tell by the looks on my cousin's face right?
- We didn't ride the Battlestar Gallactica ride. By the looks of it, no way thank you very much. Though I would say the ride is quite creative. It has 2 roller coaster ride that heads toward the opposite direction and then it will cross each other at one point, giving an impact as they would've collide. And the ride rails also went way down the tunnel and to sky high peak. Amazing.
- If you catch the Waterworld show (its a must!), choose your seats wisely. They have the "splash area" and the "non-splash area". If you insist on seating at the splash area, don't forget to have your umbrella with you.
- Upon exit, don't forget to buy yourself a pack of the best popcorn ever from Garrett. Believe me, you won't regret it!
That's all I have I for now.
Thank you for stopping by.
xoxo!
